Movie Verdict

Many were captivated by HIT-The First Case’s edge-of-your-seat narrative, but they were left wanting by the film’s climax. HIT 2 has a similarly slow start as it establishes the world of KD and the plot. But when KD takes on the case of ‘Sanjana’s murder, the pace dips and rises intermittently as the protagonist searches for a clue but then pulls you into the world of HIT 2 and makes you a part of it, the first half pace dips but it has some blocks which make you invested in the first half, and the interval bang worked out quite well as it makes you curious to watch the second half.

Though the film is lacking in the emotional quotient, the intense mood keeps you glued to the seat until the climax, and the climax is dealt with quite well. The problem of this film is the slow narration, as thrillers require racy screenplay. However, the whole film is engaging except for a few blocks, so if the pace picks up in the second half, you won’t mind waiting.

While Adivi Sesh’s portrayal of KD is solid, the role doesn’t present much of a challenge for him to play, and Meenakshi’s lack of opportunity to showcase her talents as an actress (despite her good screen presence) is a major weakness of the film. Each member of the cast, from Rao Ramesh to Tanikella Bharani to Posani Krishna Murali to Komalee Prasad to Srinath Maganti to Srikanth Iyengar, gave it their all.

Sailesh Kolanu, who impressed as a debut director with HIT-The first case, though the story is not new although he gave a distinctive touch to the film with new scenes, and now with HIT 2, as he didn’t try to reinvent himself with a new story but he engaged us with the narrative and the new scenes as it clearly shows how much he researched, but he succeeded in engaging the audience despite the slow narration.

While S.Manikandan again impresses with his visuals—his framing, blocking, and lighting pull you into the film and take you on a journey with the story—HIT 2’s technical execution could have been stronger. Stewart Eduri has done a fantastic job, bringing an appropriate level of intensity to many scenes; Sree Lekha and Suresh Bobbili’s songs, on the other hand, fall short of expectations.

Overall, HIT 2 is a good thriller that should be seen by anyone interested in the genre.
