Verdict
Hindi film makers have already come up with the movies that showcased the struggles experienced by people during the lockdown that was announced all of a sudden due to a pandemic in the movies like “India Lockdown” and few other web series on different platforms. Bheed has some similar scenes in the movies that were already presented by few film makers from different film industries.
Bheed has some stunning cast that will make us get involved in the movie with their performances. This movie has some scenes that will surely connect with many people who have gone through a lot during the pandemic. There are also some scenes that showcase the darkest side of people even during such deadly condition of others. Movie has many scenes that are based on some real incidents with some cinematic liberties added to them and it is something new to watch whole film in monochrome.
While it comes to performances, Rajkummar Rao is one such actor who can easily portray any kind of role and make it believable and he does the same once again with his effortless performance that will make us believe the emotions of his character. Pankaj Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana were brilliant as always. Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Kritika Kamra, Kumud Mishra and all other actors did their part well as required for their characters.
Technically, Bheed movie looks good. Background music composed by Anurag Saikia is apt for the situations on screen. Cinematographer Soumik Mukherjee should be appreciated for his efforts in choosing the right frames and lighting to shoot the entire movie in monochrome. Production values are decent.
Director Anubhav Sinha once again came up with a story that has deep emotions that can connect with Indian audience and tried to insert the role of politics, religion and caste in such deadly situations. Bheed is an impressive comeback for the director after the failure of Anek.
Overall, Bheed is an emotional drama that can be watched for its honest making and brilliant performances.
