Danny Denzongpa Hits and Flops Movies List: Danny Denzongpa, born Tshering Phintso Denzongpa on February 25, 1948, is an Indian actor, musician, and director best known for his work in Hindi-language cinema. Since his debut in 1971, he has been in more than 190 films. Denzongpa received India’s fourth-highest civilian honor, the Padma Shree, in 2003. His filmography now extends over four decades. He’s also appeared in a number of foreign films, the most well-known of which was Brad Pitt’s Seven Years in Tibet.

In 1971, he made his debut in B.R. Ishara’s Zaroorat (released in 1972). In Gulzar’s Mere Apne (1971), he played a positive role and received his big break. In B.R.Chopra’s 1973 film Dhundh, he played a disgruntled husband who is crippled by his wife’s inability to care for him. In films that were both economically successful and critically acclaimed during the 1970s, such as Chor Machaye Shor, 36 Ghante, Fakira, Sangram (1976), Kalicharan, Kaala Sona, and Devata, he played the supporting role of the second lead hero. After his appearance in Devata, he began receiving offers for larger, more complex roles.
