Verdict

Films whose main goal is to amuse a large audience make more money. Darja is an illustration of a movie that attempts to appeal to a broad audience but falls short of doing so because of a shoddy plot and uninspired production. You’ll be met with some of the movie’s most cringe-inducing scenes right when it starts. Due to this, the plot of the movie progresses in a dull and predictable manner without any sense of character or conflict to hold the audience’s attention.

Despite Sunil’s best attempts, it is challenging to watch him impersonate a police officer in a serious role with a serious tone and heavy voice. Anasuya Bharadwaj’s portrayal of the antagonist leads us to feel that she is only suitable for small-screen use and does not seem good. Everyone else did their jobs satisfactorily.

The technical quality of the movie is at best average. Shakeel’s “Rap Rock” music and background music are overused. Cinematographer Darshan’s camerawork and editing don’t make much of an impression. Even though it has some excellent acting, director Saleem Malik has produced a movie with a worn-out story and a drab look that won’t appeal to its target audience.

Last but not least, Darja is for people who like commercial entertainers that are mediocre at best. You might wish to watch it in a theatre if you’re a big fan of Sunil or Anasuya Bharadwaj.
