Verdict

As we have seen countless movies and series over the years with a gangster backdrop and what can this Dharavi Bank offers new?, well every gangster movie or series is not the same just backdrop remains the same and every story narrates a different perspective, where Dharavi Bank series narrates the story of a guy called Thalaivan who lives in a slum called Dharavi, the treatment of the series what makes the series stands out among all the gangster’s movies and series.

The series starts off interesting with heavy and intense that is taking place in Mumbai, the premise pulls you to the very beginning and makes you part of it, after the 1st episode the series pace dips for about 4 episodes, so much drama makes you lost the interest but if you hold your patients for a while then the series serves you many twists and turns that makes you glued to the screen.

Thailvan’s journey and how a guy who hails from Tamilnadu rules Mumbai from Dharavi and who runs the biggest crime syndicate all these scenes were quite unnatural in the beginning but once you delve into Thalaivan’s journey you will make sense, however, there are flaws, and lag in few episodes though the film has many elements in remaining episodes that make you feel the edge of the seat thriller.

Sunil Shetty as Thalaivan is just brilliant and Vivek Oberoi as JCP Jayant is justified the role as he never disappoints with his performance and Sonali Kulkarni, Luke Kenny, Freddy Daruwala, Shanthi Priya, Santosh Juvekar, Nagesh Bhosle, Siddharth Menon everyone did best in their respective roles.

Samit Kakkad come up with a regular gangster story but he made it interesting with the treatment of the film, though the film has flaws, he succeeded in engaging the audience.

Technically, Dharavi Bank is good but it could have been better, the cinematography and background score to suit the mood, and the rest of the team did well.

Overall, Dharavi Bank is one-time watch series.
