Verdict
Many films in which the main character is born into a middle-class family show him always finding the quickest way to get richer, causing him to get into a lot of trouble. With this same story point, we have seen many movies in different languages, and Farzi is one such similar story, but what makes the difference is the way directors have narrated this story in multiple episodes.
Farzi series has some great performances from the lead cast that will make us watch complete episode without even missing a single scene. There are very few scenes in the entire season that will make us feel bored. Witty dialogues and engaging story telling will keep us hooked in every episode. Ending of this series will definitely make us wait for the arrival of second season.
While it comes to acting performances, Shahid Kapoor is effortless as Sunny and he keeps us entertaining with his dialogue delivery and expressions throughout the episodes. Vijay Sethupathi is brilliant as always and evokes few laughs with his broken language. Kay Kay Menon is another actor who can perform any kind of role offered to him and he did his best once again. Raashi Khanna is okay and needs improvement in her acting. All other actors did their part well as required for the characters.
Technically Farzi series looks good. Music composed by Sachin-Jigar & Tanishk Bagchi is perfect for the proceedings and cinematography handled by Pankaj Kumar is decent. Editing has no issues as most of the episodes are trimmed to a perfect time, with no unwanted scenes. Production values are very good.
Director duo Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru has once again delivered an entertaining series with well written characters. There are few flaws in the making, but they are successful in engaging the audience through all episodes.
Overall, Farzi is an interesting crime drama series that is definitely watchable for good performances by lead cast.
