It looks like the Hindi film industry is so obsessed with the remakes rather than sticking to their own stories. The Zee5 OTT platform has announced another OTT film, surprisingly, which is also a remake of a critically acclaimed Tamil film, “K.D.”
The first-look poster of the film “Kaalidhar Laapata” was released officially today. The makers have announced that the movie will premiere on the Zee5 OTT platform directly on July 04, 2025, skipping the theatrical release.
As mentioned earlier, this film is a remake of an award-winning Tamil film that revolves around an elderly man who leaves his home as his family members plot for his death. Abhishek Bachchan will be seen in the role of that elderly man. Daivik Baghela and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub will be seen in other important roles.
Madhumita, who directed the original, is handling this remake. Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, Umesh KR Bansal, and Pragati Deshmukh produced the film under the banners of Emmay Entertainment and Zee Studios.
