Aggarwal grew up in a household of Punjabi immigrants to Bombay (present-day Mumbai). Kajal’s mother, Vinay Aggarwal, is a confectioner and also serves as the company’s manager, while her father, Suman Aggarwal, is an entrepreneur in the textile sector. Kajal’s sister Nisha Aggarwal is the Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam actress who recently tied the knot with actor Karan Valecha (Managing director Golds gyms, Asia). She has wanted to get an MBA since she was a little girl, and she plans to do it very soon.

Kajal Aggarwal attended both St. Anne’s High School and Jai Hind College in Mumbai, India, for her secondary education. She attended Kishinchand Chellaram College in Mumbai and majored in Mass Media with a focus on Advertising & Marketing. In her final year of university, she interned at Loreal under Smira Bakshi and landed her first real job. The photographer had seen her potential as a model during one of the photos and encouraged her to pursue it. The distribution of her photographs led to her first South Indian film co-starring with Nana Patekar.
She originally planned to earn an MBA from INSEAD in Paris.
The Bollywood film “Kyun! Ho Gaya Na…” from 2004 marked her acting debut in a supporting role. Afterwards, she landed the lead role opposite actor Kalyan Ram in “Lakshmi Kalyanam,” a Telugu film directed by industry heavyweight Teja and released in 2007. The movie was a flop, unfortunately. The Telugu film “Chandamama,” directed by Krishna Vamsi and starring her, was a commercial and critical success and catapulted her to stardom.
She has acted in both South Indian and Bollywood films, including “Kyun Ho Gaya Na… (2004),” “Singham (2011),” and “Special 26 (2013).”
She debuted as a singer with the song “Yenaithu” from the 2016 Kannada film Chakravyuha.
