Movie Verdict
For the first time, Major appears so real from start to finish since Major Sandeep’s life itself contains so much drama and it worked out pretty well for the film. It’s difficult to make a biography because to make spectators believe director needs to fictionalize the biopic for the cinematic effect.
As the plot goes from Sandeep’s youth and adolescence to his military service, we see how he transformed from Sandeep Unnikrishnan to Major Sandeep. The film’s non-linear writing is a major asset. That being said, the film’s interval boom was executed very well as it entices viewers to continue watching, and the second half is all about emotions as it depicts his sacrifices and how he fought terrorists in Taj Hotel, which was conveyed perfectly and the conclusion was also a bit emotional.
Adivi Sesh proves that he’s more than just a great writer; he’s a great actor, too, as Major Sandeep in the film, and he does a fantastic job of portraying the character’s two distinct personalities.
It was with Goodachari that Adivi Sesh and Sashi Kiran Tikka became a winning combination. They demonstrated this again with Major, which is a well-written script, thanks to the writer Adivi Sesh, and Sashi Kiran Tikka adapted to his style and he succeeded in engaging the audience; there are many goosebumps-inducing scenes.
Vamsi Patchipulusu’s cinematography and Sricharan Pakal’s background soundtrack boasted numerous situations in Major, and the rest of the technical departments fared well as required.
Finally, Major is an honest effort, and every Indian should see this film, as well as a fitting memorial to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who was killed in action.
