Movie Verdict

After the first look posters of ‘Mister Mummy’ are released, it grabbed the attention of audience, as it looked something unique. Trailer of the movie also looked promising with fun added to it, but the movie doesn’t meet the expectations while watching on screen. Though the movie is made on a unique point of a man getting pregnant, making and writing of the movie makes it tiresome to watch on screen. Movie have few good scenes that will surely make us laugh, like calling the pregnancy of man as ‘Pregmancy’ and Riteish comic timing that makes scenes more comical.

While it comes to acting Riteish is the show runner of this movie, most of the movie has scenes that involves him and as Riteish has done some comedy movies earlier, it was a cake walk for the actor to play this role. He was able to entertain the audience to some extent, but his look may find weird on screen. Genelia has limited screen time, but has done a good job in her role. Mahesh Manjrekar in the role of doctor is another character that will provide the fun in this movie and he has done a decent job. All other actors did their part as required for the story.

Technically Mister Mummy looks okay. Music composed by Sneha Khanwalkar, Tanishk Bagchi & Rochak Kohli is not that impressive and all the songs are forgettable. Cinematography handled by Sunita Radia ws good. Vaishnavi Krishnan editing could have been a little better. Production values are good.

Director Shaad Ali who was impressive earlier with Saathiya, Bunty Aur Babli later failed to entertain audience with his movies. Though Mister Mummy movie has a unique point that could generate a lot of fun, Shaad failed to create some good scenes and made scenes look routine.

Overall, Mister Mummy movie is an average comedy drama that entertains the audience in parts. You can watch this movie in theatres if you are a fan of Riteish Deshmukh’s comedy timing.
