She first found success as a model and became Miss World before pursuing acting. Chopra’s first film was Thamizhan, a Tamil film released in 2002. With her role in Aitraaz, for which she won the Filmfare Best Villain Award in 2004, she became only the second woman to achieve this feat.
A number of Chopra’s subsequent films, including Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Krrish (2006), and Don: The Chase Begins Again (2008), were box office hits. Chopra won both the National Film Award for Best Actress and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2008.
