Movie Verdict
Rama Rao On Duty may not be Ravi Teja’s typical fare because we are more familiar with his action mass masala commercial films with his distinct comedy. However, this movie is a welcome diversion from his usual fare, and we should be appreciative to director Sharath Mandava for including Ravi Teja in this narrative. It’s a good thing because it keeps the audience interested that the film establishes the hero’s world and explains the main theme as it goes along. After a number of tribes mysteriously disappear in the first half, the movie picks up pace. There are numerous layers to this story, though, and the intermission worked well because it piques interest in the second half. The issue, though, is with songs that were forcedly inserted in the second half of the beginning, where it is obvious that they were done so.
Even though this movie contains commercial elements, it differs from other movies in that regard. Like any character he has played before, Ravi Teja is excellent as Rama Rao; he just delivered it so naturally. Filmmaker Sharath Mandava did a fantastic job of writing and producing it. He has been successful in evoking the audience’s feelings and maintaining their interest throughout.
Rama Rao On Duty is unparalleled in terms of quality. Sam C S did a good job with the background score, but his songs are not very important. For fans of Ravi Teja, Petter Hein and Stun Shiva have created brilliant action blocks that are a visual feast, and the other technical departments performed satisfactorily.
It’s safe to say that Rama Rao On Duty has something to appeal to everyone in the audience.
