Verdict

Salaam Venky kick starts with some cute and beautiful scenes between a mother and her son. Relation & Bonding between these two characters are well established in the first half of the movie with some emotional scenes building up after few minutes leading to an emotional interval block. Second half of the movie has more emotional scenes that will definitely make your heart heavy due to some terrific performances on screen. Though this movie doesn’t have too many exciting elements, it has some good scenes that could connect with the audience and few cameos that will surprise by the end of the movie.

While it comes to acting performances, Kajol as Sujata is so real & lovable. One can easily relate to her character and connect to their real life situations with their mothers. Vishal Jethwa is another wonderful actor in Hindi film industry who has been casted in very few movies, but has the talent to engage the audience with his performance, be it Ruthless Sunny from Mardaani 2 or Emotional ‘Venky’ from Salaam Venky. He has a very bright future as an actor. Rahul Bose, Rajeev Khandelwal, Aahana Kumra, Prakash Raj, Priya Mani and all other actors did their part well as required for the proceedings. Aamir Khan’s cameo is an added advantage to the film.

Technically Salaam Venky movie looks good. Songs and background score composed by Mithoon is apt for the movie and brings the required feel. Cinematography by Ravi Varman is another highlight of this movie, as he captured some beautiful shots that brings life to many scenes. Editing is very good and has no unwanted scenes throughout the movie. Production values are as required for the story of the movie.

Director Revathy is not just a brilliant actor who won National award for her performance multiple times, but also a brilliant director who can bring out the best performances from her cast. She was successful in entertaining the audience with emotional scenes that are relatable and the characters are well-written. Though there are few flaws in the movie here and there, she managed to present a neat and clean movie educating about the tough situations in life and the way we need to handle with such situations.

Overall, Salaam Venky is an emotional and engaging movie that should be watched for it’s honest content and making.
