Verdict

Bollywood has been eyeing superhit films in other industries and remaking them, this scenario is been going on quite often in recent times. Recently there are many films Bollywood has remade and now it’s time for another film which is Selfiee, which is an official remake of the 2019’s Malayalam super hit film Driving Licence. Talking about the Selfiee well, the film starts off intrestingly by setting up the plot and introducing the two main characters.

Raj Mehta the director of Selfiee hasn’t changed anything as he kept all the scenes that the original version has which is a good thing though. Though the film has everything still it doesn’t excite you much coz a lot of people have already watched the original version on OTT. The core point the film may connect with the Hindi audience because it is relatable to every movie lover. Though the narrative has loose ends Akshay Kumar and Emran Hashmi make you glued to the seats.

Akshay Kumar has superstar Vijay Kumar has does a brilliant job as his energy levels is just brilliant, Emran Hashmi as Om Prakash does a brilliant job as we have seen him mostly in romantic films but this middle father role quite new to him and he effortlessly pulled it off, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Diana Penty does their part well as they doesn’t have much screen time to perform and rest of the cast did their best.

Raj Mehta sticks to the original version in a way he succeeded in presenting the story in quite an engaging way but he went a bit overboard in showing Vijay Kumar’s stardom in the film. Technically, Selfiee is good, and Azeem Dayani’s music is good but the background score should have been better, Rajeev Ravi’s cinematography took the film to next level.

Overall, Selfiee is an honest remake and a must-watch film for all sections of the audience.
