Movie Verdict

Moviegoers no longer care about box office success and instead seek out films with original and engaging stories. Some directors, however, persist in coercing audiences to watch their commercial films. This is why people say Gaalodu is a boring commercial film from the 90s that you shouldn’t waste your time on. The film opens with a standard introduction of the main character, followed by a mass beat that serves as a summary of the main character’s character arc and overall character.

The second part of Gaalodu is tedious to watch due to its repetitive scenes, slow pacing, and lacklustre acting. The film’s only saving graces were its glamorous heroine and a few funny bits, but even those weren’t enough to keep people interested. A few other comedians also made an effort to make us laugh, and the opening half of the film features some Sudheer mark humour blocks. Unfortunately, that does not pan out.

It would be best for him to stick to comedies if he wants to play heroes in more movies. Although Gehna Sippy’s potential is limited, she nonetheless managed to wow in the movie with her glitzy performance. The remainder of the cast, including Shakalaka Shankar, is merely adequate. We know that Sudheer can do comedy, so seeing him perform unbelievable action sequences on screen is jarring and doesn’t work for his character of Raju.

Instead of trying to turn a dull tale into an exciting film, as Raja Sekar Reddy Pulicharla did, he should write his own stories from scratch.

Gaalodu is fine technically, however the songs by Bheems Ceciroleo and the music by Ramprasad are below standard. Ramprasad’s photography is reminiscent of typical Hollywood productions in that it features bright lights and vivid colours that overwhelm the viewer.

Gaalodu is an old commercial film, yet fans of Sudigali Sudheer should still give it a look.

Plus Points:

  • Few Comedy Scenes

Minus Points:

  • Story
  • Screenplay
  • Music
  • Lack of Emotion

Rating: 2/5
