Popular Kollywood actor Suriya Sivakumar was born to actors Palaniswamy or Sivakumar on July 23, 1975, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The now-46-year-old actor made his acting debut in the 1997 action picture Nerrukku Ner, produced by Mani Ratnam. Success at the box office paired Suriya with Vijay, who had already established himself as a popular actor in Tamil cinema following the success of their last romantic comedy. Unakkaga Poove, Suriya was originally going by the name Saravanan Sivakumar, but producer Mani Ratnam changed it. After the initial popularity of his debut film, the actor struggled to repeat that success until the release of his high-budget action thriller Kaakha Kaakha in 2003.
Actor Ajay Devgn started his own production firm, 2D Entertainment, in 2013. This studio is responsible for many critically praised movies like 24 and Soorarai Pottru as well as the latest Jai Bhim. The firm is working on two films, Oh My Dog (directed by Sarov Shanmugam) and Viruman (starring Karthi, Suriya’s younger brother).
