Movie Verdict

There are very few movies that tell the true meaning of life, the importance of relationships, the values of friendship, and most importantly the importance of freedom Uunchai is a film that will depict the meaning of freedom. The film takes time to get into the story as we can see in the beginning key characters’ introductions, and their desires, the film gets interesting once the trio decided to go to Mount Everest to rest their friend Bhupend’s ashes where his soul dwells.

Without considering their age the trio’s acts to convince their families to go to Everest pulls you into the film and make you part of it, though the slow narration makes us feel a bit bored, the right amount of comedy and the core emotion hooked you till the end. However, once they have reached the base the comedy of Amitabh Bachhan, Boman Irani and Anupam Kher are just fireworks.

The legends of acting Amitab, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, and Danny Denzongpa just killed it with their performance and they effortlessly brings every emotion and it’s a treat to watch them on screen and the rest of the cast Sarika, Neena Gupta, Parineeti Chopra did their best.

Kudos to Renowned filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya for bringing them on screen and talking about direction, he partly succeeded in engaging the audience but he succeeded in writing a good script.

Technically, Uunchai is okay, but the Everest backdrop VFX is terrible and Manoj Kumar Khatel’s visuals are okay, Amit Trivedi’s music is good, he saved the film with his background music and the rest of the team did their best.

Overall, Uunchai is the simplest film that tells the true meaning of freedom and the importance of friendship.
