Movie Verdict

Vikram Vedha is an official remake of the Tamil superhit movie with the same title. Director duo who directed the original have helmed this remake as well. Vikram Vedha has an interesting screenplay and strong characters that were will written. First half of the movie is majorly focused on the character buildup and the interval part makes the movie more interesting. Second half has many moments that will surely surprise the audience. Few twists in the movie, though looks simple, adds up the intensity needed in the story. We can see few changes and additions in Hindi compared to Tamil.

While it comes to acting, Hrithik Roshan looks flawless in the role of Vedha. If you haven’t watched the original in Tamil, you will definitely fall in love with Vedha’s character, as it was brilliantly performed by Hrithik. If comparisons are drawn from the original, then Vijay Sethupathi who played the same character in Tamil might look superlative. Saif Ali Khan is very good in the role of Vikram as a sincere police officer and he was at his best. Radhika Apte, who played the wife of Saif in the movie was brilliant as usual, though her character screen presence is limited. Rohit Saraf, Sharib Hashmi did their part well. All other actors from the movie did their part as required for the story.

Technically Vikram Vedha looks brilliant. Songs composed by Vishal-Shekhar are good and ‘Alcoholia’ song will be a treat to watch on screen for some unrealistic moves by Hrithik Roshan. Background score composed by Sam CS is one of the major highlights in the movie. Cinematography by PS Vinod is another biggest positive in the film, that has some dark visuals that elevates the mood of the story and keeps the audience hooked to the movie. Fights are very well choregraphed and performed on screen. Production values of the movie are very high.

Director duo Pushkar-Gayathri did the magic again. They were successful in recreating the magic done by Vikram Vedha in Tamil and made a very few changes that doesn’t make any difference in the overall experience of the movie. It is good to see that directors sticked to the original and did not spoil the soul of it.

Overall, Vikram Vedha is a action filled commercial entertainer, that also offers a good story and brilliant performances from the star cast. Definitely watch this movie in theatres.
