Panag attended 14 different institutions for her formal education, including Kendriya Vidyalaya, The Lawrence School, and the International School of Lusaka. Following that, she attended Punjabi University, Patiala, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Later Panag joined Punjab University, Chandigarh for her master’s in Political Science. Since she was a little girl, she had a passion for sports, public speaking, and debating.

On January 3, 1979, Gul Panag entered the world in the city of Chandigarh, India. The late Lt. General Panag, who was her father in the Army, was a well respected figure in the family. Gurjit Kaur is the name of her mother. She also has a sibling named Shebir Singh.
Gul Panag Career
The first step in Panag’s professional life was as a model. In 1999, she was crowned Miss India. She also competed in Miss Universe that same year. Since then, she has been featured in a wide variety of ads. She, along with actor Aamir Khan, is a face of the Tata Sky television network.
Panag made her acting debut in the 2003 Ashwini Chaudhary film Dhoop. Over the years, she has starred in a slew of blockbuster films, including Jurm, Dor, Manorama Six Feet Under, Summer 2007, Student of the Year 2, and 420 IPC, to name a few. She made an appearance alongside Ravi Varma, Srikanth Iyengar, Nagarjuna, Sonal Chuahan, and many more in the 2022 Telugu action thriller The Ghost.
Panag made her television debut in the Star Plus production of Kashmeer (2003), which was directed by Sohail Tatari and also featured in the cinema industry. Then she became a host on many programmes including Khoobsurat and Musafir Hoon Yaro. During the year 2018, she portrayed the lead female role in the television series Vijay Jyoti, shown on Zee TV.
Panag made her first appearance on the small screen in 2019 on Amazon Prime’s The Family Man, with actor Manoj Bajpayee. In 2019, she played Saloni in several online series, including Rangbaaz Phirse. She made appearances in the 2020 films Paatal Lok and Pawan and Pooja. During 2022, Panag portrayed Maya Ahuja on Sony LIV’s Good Bad Girl web series.
