She attended St. Xaviers Higher Secondary School in Mapusa, Goa, and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Mumbai.

On November 1, 1987, Ileana was born in the Mahim neighborhood of Mumbai, India. Her close friends and family refer to him by her pet name, “Illu.” She was 10 years old when her family relocated from Mahim, Mumbai to Parra, Goa. After hearing the industry was looking for new faces from her mother’s former manager, she decided to give it a go. She got her start when Indian producer Rakesh Roshan saw her in an ad and helped her land a prominent role. She worked really hard, and as a result, she was able to fulfil her goals in a relatively short amount of time. Not only did she receive the first-ever salary of one crore in the South Indian film business, but she was also the first Indian actress ever. At the time, this was the largest salary ever paid to a female protagonist.

She started modeling when she was 16 and claims that her first portfolio, put together by Marc Robinson, was a complete failure. She went on to walk the runway for a number of well-known designers after that. She went on to star in a string of successful TV commercials for brands including Fair & Lovely and Emami Talc and Electrolux and more.
She decided to attend the Aruna Bikshu Acting School in Hyderabad, Telangana in 2005 so that she could develop her acting chops. When she was cast as Bhanumati in the 2006 Telugu film Devadasu, she made her acting debut. Over $140,000,000 was brought in by the film’s box office success. She was recognized as the South’s Best Female Debutante by Filmfare. Her following Telugu movie, Pokiri, in which she played the lead role of Shruti, was the highest-grossing Telugu movie of all time.
