Kalyan Ram’s family tree was equally steeped in the film industry; his father, grandparents, brother, and uncle were all in the business. A kid actor since 1989, he made his first feature picture appearance that year. Following this, in 2003’s “Toli Choopulone,” he made his hero film debut. Kalyan Ram decided to pursue a Master of Science degree, so he enrolled in the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, America (M.Sc.). He also runs the video effects business Advitha Creative Studios, which contributed to the production of films including Legend, Nannaku Prematho, and Krishnashtami.
Kalyan Ram Career
Abhimanyu and Toli Choopulone, Ram’s first two films as an actor, both bombed at the box office. Taking the moniker of his grandfather, the late N. T. Rama Rao (or simply “NTR”), he launched N.T.R. Arts in 2005. The film he produced next, Athanokkade, marked the directorial debut of Surender Reddy and was a commercial and critical triumph. His subsequent movies, including Asadhyudu, Vijayadasami, and Lakshmi Kalyanam, were commercial failures.
However, Hare Ram, which he released in 2008, was a commercial and critical triumph. His films Jayeebhava (2009) and Kalyanram Kathi (2010) both bombed at the box office. Om 3D, which Ram produced and starred in, debuted in late summer[when?] 2013 as India’s first 3D action picture. The movie bombed at the box office despite all the positive buzz. Starring Ram, Pataas was a critical and commercial success in 2015. The film Kick 2, released by N.T.R. Arts, marked his first time as a producer rather than a star of the picture. Surender Reddy directed the film that had Ravi Teja in the lead role, but the movie bombed at the box office.
Ram starred with Sonal Chauhan in the 2015 film Sher, which was released in the latter half of the year. Mallikarjun helmed the film, and Vijayalakshmi Pictures was responsible for its creation. Ram produced and featured as an undercover journalist in Puri Jagannadh’s 2016 film Ism. He starred as both the MLA and Naa Nuvve in the film versions of each of those titles in 2018. Both N.T.R: Kathanayakudu and N.T.R: Mahanayakudu, released in 2019, saw him portraying his father, Nandamuri Harikrishna. Thereafter, he joined Shalini Pandey and Nivetha Thomas in K. V. Guhan’s 118. In the end, audiences and critics alike enjoyed the film.
The 2020 film Entha Manchivaadavuraa, starring Ram, was directed by Satish Vegesna (who also directed Ram in Sathamanam Bhavati). This version of the movie is an approved translation of the original Gujarati film, Oxygen. And the recent hit film Bimbisara.
