Only one biological daughter, actress Aishwarya, was born to the couple in 1971. But in 1974, Lakshmi and Bhaskar got divorced. Her second marriage, which she began in 1975 on the Chattakari set with her co-star Mohan Sharma, ended in divorce in 1980. She met actor-director M. Sivachandran while they were filming En Uyir Kannamma, and they later married in 1987. In 2000, the couple adopted a child they named Samyuktha.

Lakshmi was nurtured in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, where she was born. Tamil actress Kumari Rukmini was her mother. Her father, Yaragudipati Varada Rao, was an actor, screenwriter, director, producer, and dramatist most known for his work in the Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil film industries.
Lakshmi Career
After acting in all four South Indian-language movies in the 1970s, the actor became well-known. She gained notoriety in 1974 thanks to the box office hit Chattakari, for which she received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress. The movie was remade in 1975 in Telegu as Miss Julie Prema Katha and in Hindi as Julie.
This resulted in her receiving a Filmfare Best Actress Award as well as the Bengal Film Journalists Association Award for the year’s most outstanding work. She appeared in more Malayalam films following the success of the first one. She received Filmfare Awards for Chalanum and Mohiniyaattam as Best Actress. She is credited for creating one of the greatest film pairings in South Indian cinema history with Kannada actor Anant Nag in the 1970s and 1980s. Together, they have appeared in over 25 movies.
Sila Nerangalil received the National Film Award for Best Actress. The first South Indian actress to win a prize for a Tamil film was Sila Manithargi in 1977. She appeared in movies including Jeans (1998) and Hulchul as a supporting character (2004). She has appeared in more than 400 movies and has a political background. With the Kannada films Yours, Mine, and Ours and Makkala Sanya, she made her directorial debut.
Throughout her film break, she organized two walk shows. The Kannada conversation show Idu Kathe Alla Jeevana and the Tamil talk show Achamillai, Achamillai were both shown on Savarna Channel.
