Film distributor Sudhakar Reddy and actress Laxmi Reddy had a son, Nithin Kumar Reddy. Nikitha Reddy is his older sister. He attended Geetanjali School in Begumpet, then Ratna Junior College for his intermediate studies, and finally Shadan College of Engineering and Technology in Gandipet for his bachelor’s degree. Later in life, his father decided to pursue a career in filmmaking, and the two movies Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde and Chinnadana Nee Kosam were co-produced by the two of them. 

Nithin now writes his name with an extra I as Nithiin. Nithiin proposed to his longtime sweetheart Shalini Kandukuri in the year 2020. Their wedding took place in Hyderabad’s Falaknuma Palace on July 26. The wedding had been planned for April 16 of that year in Dubai but had to be rescheduled owing to the lockdown restrictions put in place because of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Nithiin made his acting debut in Teja’s 2002 film Jayam. After spotting him in two separate screenings of his film Nuvvu Nenu at the Sudarshan 35 mm theatre, director Teja enquired about his acting interest, did a screen test and photo session, and ultimately cast him as the lead in his directorial and production venture Jayam, which also featured Sadha and Gopichand.
