On January 22, 1958, Posani was born in Pedakakani, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. His father, Posani Subba Rao, was an ordinary worker. His mom stayed at home to raise him. After finishing graduate school, he found employment at the Margardarshi Chit Fund. After that, he became Paruchuri Gopala Krishna’s assistant. Posani worked for him when he was getting his M.Phil. from Presidency College.
