Chakghat, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh is where Kumud entered the world. Originally from Belgaum, Karnataka.

Originally from India, Kumud’s family now calls Nepal home. His father was an actor and a member of the Indian military. When they were younger, he always pushed Kumud to pursue acting in Bhopal’s theatre scene.

In a wedding ceremony held on February 9, 2008, Kumud wed Ayesha Raza. Bharat (2004), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), and Bharat (2019) are just a few of the Bollywood films in which Ayesha has appeared (2019). Kabir or Kabbu is the name they’ve given to their son.

Kumud Mishra Career

Kumud’s father urged him to pursue a career in acting. In Bhopal, he became involved with the “Bharat Bhavan Culture Centre.” There, he appeared in a few plays and collaborated with renowned theatre directors like Sachin Tiwari, John Martin, Alok Nandan, Bansi Kaul, and many more. He was able to join Prabhat Ganguly’s ‘The Little Ballet Theatre.’ He also attended the 1989 India Festival in the Soviet Union.

In 1990 he enrolled at Delhi’s illustrious “National School of Drama” to earn a diploma in acting. One of his mentors was the renowned stage actor and director Satyadev Dubey. Once, Satyadev asked him to come to Mumbai for an audition for a film titled “The Making of the Mahatma” (1996), which was to be directed by Shyam Benegal. Both Kumud and Rajit Kapoor made the cut as finalists, but in the end, it was Rajit who got the job.

He has been an integral component of the renowned Prithvi Theatre for over two decades. Swabhimaan, a television series broadcast on DD National, featured him in 1995. Bollywood’s “Sardari Begum” gave him his first major role (1996). However, that did not help him land any major film roles. That’s why he never left the stage entirely.

He was cast in the 2007 film 1971, which also featured Manoj Bajpaiyee and Ravi Kishan. However, it was the film “Rockstar” that propelled him into the public eye (2011). In the film, he portrayed the role of “Khatana Bhai.” Many other Bollywood films followed, including Ranjhanaa (2013), Revolver Rani (2014), Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014), Badlapur (2015), Airlift (2016), Sultan (2016), Rustom (2016), MS Dhoni: The untold story (2016), Rock On 2 (2016), Jolly LLB 2 (2017), Article 15 (2019), and P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar (2019).
