Ajith only became fluent in Tamil after he started acting. Before completing his higher secondary, he left Asan Memorial Senior Secondary School in 1986.

He admired Rajesh Khanna, Jayalalithaa, and M. G. Ramachandran as a young boy. He developed a love for Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth during his adolescence. Then, business agents pressured her into posing for print media advertisements.
