Akhil Education

Actors Nagarjuna and Amala welcomed Akhil Akkineni into the world on April 8, 1994. He has Irish and Bengali ancestry from his mother’s side and Telugu ancestry from his father. He is Naga Chaitanya’s half-brother and the actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s grandson.

After completing his studies at Chaitanya Vidyalaya, Akkineni spent two years abroad in Australia. He went back to finish his education at Hyderabad’s Oakridge International School. At the age of 16, he decided to pursue acting as a career and enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. From the University of South Florida, he also earned a BBA.

 He is the actor Nageswara Rao’s grandson. Since he was a young child, Akhil has been passionate about acting and has chosen to pursue a career in it. He enrolled in an acting class at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York when he was 16 years old. Akhil was very clear about his goals and started pursuing his passion right away, despite the fact that his father wanted him to pursue a business education.

When Akhil made his debut in the industry in 1995 with the Telugu comedy Sisindri, starring his real-life father Akkineni Nagarjuna, he was only a year old. In the Shiva Nageswara Rao-directed movie, Akhil portrayed the kidnapped toddler Sisindri. The idea for the film was inspired by the Hollywood production Baby’s Day Out (1994). He received the Filmfare Best Child Actor award for his part in the movie. After 19 years, he later made a cameo appearance in the 2014 fantasy drama Manam directed by Vikram Kumar. The Akkineni family produced the film, which starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Akkineni Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles.

Akhil made his debut in a leading role in the V. V. Vinayak-directed Telugu fantasy drama film Akhil in 2015. In the film, opposite Sayesha Saigal, who plays the lead female, the actor plays the role of an impressionable young orphan named Akhil. Akhil signed up for a stunt workshop with his personal trainer Kicha for the film and spent two months attending workshops in Thailand. Akhil received the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actor for his work in the film, despite the fact that it received only mixed reviews and failed miserably at the box office. The actor then made a brief cameo appearance in G. Nageswara Reddy’s 2016 romantic action movie Aatadukundam Raa.
