Bobby Simha Education
On November 6, 1983, in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Bobby Simha entered the world. His parents and grandparents were born in Hyderabad, but in 1995 his family made the trip to Kodaikanal, which he now calls his hometown. He then went on to graduate from a Telugu medium school in Mopidevi, Andhra Pradesh, and enrol at Pioneer College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore, where he majored in physics.

The actor Bobby Simha has played prominent roles in the films Soodhu Kavvum and Jigarthanda. In the latter, he played a Madhurai mobster. Subsequent to Jigarthanda’s breakthrough, he made appearances in films like Bangalore Naatkal and others. Now he has officially been recognised as a top performer in the South Indian Film Industry.

In 2005, he went to a party in Coimbatore called Naalaya Natchathiram, where the main speakers, Sundar C and E. Ramdoss, encouraged him to try out for roles in Tamil movies. Simha claimed that he was tricked into travelling from Coimbatore to Chennai to star in a TV serial. After finishing school, Simha returned to Chennai with hopes of launching an acting career.
Instead, he found work in marketing, insurance, and business process outsourcing to make ends meet. Shortly thereafter, he met fellow filmmaker Manikandan, who in turn put him in touch with his pal, Karthik Subbaraj. Although most of his later films did not fare well at the box office, the success of Jigarthanda had opened doors for Bobby Simha to become a lead actor. Urumeen, the first film in which he starred as the protagonist, premiered in December 2015. In 2016, he played a more sympathetic character in the coming-of-age movie Bangalore Naatkal than in his previous action films.
The reviews for Simha’s performance as a character in the film were mixed, despite the fact that he had offered up his own dates to the producers. He signed on in June of 2016 to play the adversary in Hari’s Saamy sequel, Saamy Square. Film Companion recognized Simha’s turn in Jigarthanda as one of the decade’s 100 greatest performances in its 2019 edition.
