Boman Irani was born on November 2, 1959, to “Irani” Parsi parents who had been living in Mumbai since the city’s earliest days and who owned a bakery in the area. He completed his undergraduate studies at Mithibai College in Mumbai. After completing his education at the polytechnic university, he secured a position as a room service attendant at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower.
