D Imman Education

D Imman did a master’s degree at the University of Madras as Imman has filed legal action against his ex-wife, alleging that she applied for a new passport for their children while concealing the fact that he has the children’s original passports. He filed an application with the Chennai High Court seeking to have the passport renewals nullified. Two passport officials, Manica and Zonal, have been ordered to appear in court on June 9 for the next hearing.

Imman’s early musical pursuits began at an early age. He began his career in the music industry at the tender age of fifteen, when he began an apprenticeship as a keyboard player for Adithyan and Mahesh Mahadevan. He got his start in the industry as a music director for TV shows. Kaadhale Swasam, technically his debut picture, had a hugely successful audio release but never made it into theatres for several reasons. In 2002, his debut film Thamizhan was released.

Imman’s years of dedication paid off when the film Mynaa received rave reviews, prompting the director Prabhu Solomon to invite him to participate on subsequent films including the successful Kumki and Kayal. D. Imman has quickly risen to prominence as a leading composer for Tamil films.

D Imman Career

Imman began his career as a film composer when he was 15 years old, studying the keyboard under the tutelage of renowned composers Mahesh Mahadevan and Adithyan. The television serial producer Kutty Padmini took notice of his work during this time and asked him to compose the theme song and score the drama Krishnadasi, which first aired in 2000.

After then, he was able to score the TV shows Kolangal, Police Diary, and Mandhira Vaasal, and he continued to gain employment on the TV circuit. (Citation required) Kaadhale Swasam, a love film starring Karthik and Meena, was Kutty Padmini’s first opportunity to hire him as a composer. After hearing Imman’s CD, producer Venkateswaran was so taken with his work that he asked him to score the film Thamizhan (2002). The album was well received, and it even had Vijay and Priyanka Chopra’s vocals on one track, which the composer wrote especially for them.

His popularity was mostly due to the success of several of his solo songs, particularly “Azhagiya Asura” from his 2003 album Whistle. Sundar C’s Giri (2004), a masala film starring Arjun, included his next album, and the song “Dai Kaiyaa Vechukittu” was a hit with both urban and rural listeners.
