Verdict
Every year there are hundreds of movies getting released worldwide and makers are left with no more new ideas to write new stories. They are now choosing some simple plots or some already used plots and adding some surprise elements to make them look interesting on screen. Das Ka Dhamki is one such movie which has a story that has been told on screen many times already, but Vishwaksen confidently said that movie will have some interesting points that will surely entertain the audience in theatres.
Das Ka Dhamki has no such exciting or surprise elements that can make audience connect with the movie in any way. Both the characters played by Vishwaksen will not connect with the audience due to lack of reality in both the characters. Later half reveals some twists which are not that exciting and movie ends on an average note.
While it comes to performances, Vishwaksen’s dual role act is okay to some extent, but his expressions look repetitive from his previous movies and he may have to work a little more on his performance to make it look more effective one screen. Nivetha Pethuraj has nothing much to do in the movie and her expressions are not up to the mark. Rao Ramesh did well as always. Rohini and Ajay were good in the limited roles offered to them. Mahesh Achanta, Hyper Aadi and all other actors did their part well as required for the characters.
Technically Das Ka Dhamki looks okay. Songs composed by Leon James are good and audience will enjoy “Padipoindhe Pilla” song in theatre for sure. Cinematography by Dinesh K Babu could have been better and DI looks a bot over saturated. Action scenes choregraphed by Todur Lazarov Juji, Venkat, Rama Krishnan will entertain mass audience. Production values are decent.
Vishwaksen as director is not that impressive. His previous movie “Falaknuma Das” was a remake movie, but he made it look interesting with few additions, but this time the story and making of “Das Ka Dhamki” will not impress audience in any way. This movie will definitely remind us of many old movies like “Rowdy Alludu,””Goutham Nanda,” Nani’s “Gentlemen” and few other movies.
Overall, “Das Ka Dhamki” is an average action drama that has less interesting and engaging scenes in the total running minutes.
