Verdict

Original movie ‘Mirage’ was a big hit in it’s language and Anurag Kashyap made the movie with the same intensity and thrill that was created by the original. There are no major changes in the movie, other than the nativity and the language used. 1st half of the movie takes some time to establish the point and picks up the pace slowly. Movie gets more interesting once the present life of the leading lady changes completely, due the changes she made in the past.

Taapsee Pannu is just okay with her performance and looks routine with her expressions in most of the scenes. Pavail Gupta screen presence is good and the actor has the charm to attract the audience with his performance. Child actor, who played the role of 12 year old kid from past was impressive. All other actors did their part well.

Technically Dobaara looks good. Background score composed by Shor Police adds the intensity and thriller that is needed for the scenes. Cinematography by Sylvester Fonseca is one of the major highlights in the movie. Visuals of the movie look stunning and looks more like a Hollywood movie.

Anurag Kashyap stayed to original soul of the film and didn’t make any changes that could affect the proceedings. He never disappoints with his making and that will be applied to this remake as well.

Finally, Dobaaraa is a truthful remake of the original, without any doubt, this science-fiction thriller is worth watching our time.
