Devaiah is the son of Sri Devaiah and Pushpalata, and he was born on May 28th, 1978, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Since he was a small child, the actor’s parents have supported his desire to act. When he first started out, Devaiah was a part of the cast of the Anurag Kashyap movie That Girl in Yellow Boots, alongside Kalki Koechlin and Naseeruddin Shah. The film was shown at festivals like TIFF and Venice Film Festival, and his performance as a local thug named Chitiappa won high praise from reviewers. Next, he appeared in the 2011 criminal thriller Dum Maaro Dum, directed by Rohan Sippy. The movie stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Rana Daggubati, and Prateik Babbar, and it focuses on the activities of a drug gang in the Indian state of Goa. Devaiah’s performance as Ricky was praised by both audiences and reviewers, and the film itself was a moderate success.
Devaiah also appeared in the same year’s thriller film Shaitan, directed by Bejoy Nambiar and starring Kalki Koechlin, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Shiv Pandit.
