Movie Verdict

Moviegoers may recognise “Love Mocktail,” a massive hit in the Kannada film industry. This popular Kannada movie inspired the official remake Gurthunda Seetakalam. There are moments in the film that will undoubtedly transport us back to our college romances and first loves, but the film’s overall pacing may leave you feeling a little bored. The first part, detailing our romantic exploits as teenagers and young adults, is full of funny anecdotes, while the second is more sombre and introspective. A lot of serious couples will cry at the film’s devastating ending.

Everybody agrees that Satyadev is a fantastic actor. In this clip, he’s trying to pass himself off as an everyday guy with his smooth delivery and deadpan humor. Tamannaa Bhatia is picky about who she portrays right now. She gave a stellar performance in the film. Megha Akash looks great on camera, but she has no acting background. When compared to Kavya Shetty, Ammu definitely stands out. Priyadarshi was able to get a few laughs out of his audience. All of the other actors did a great job with their parts.

The technical aspects of Gurthunda Seetakalam seem to hold up. Soulful as they are, the songs on the Kaala Bhairava album can only be heard once—the film itself—and only once. The cinematography by Satya Hegde is fine, and he manages to capture some beautiful natural settings in secluded areas. Lakshmi Bhupala’s dialogue is sharp and gives the scenes their own unique flavor. The editing could have used some work.

Nagashekar, the film’s director, stayed true to the book and didn’t make any major changes to the plot in order to keep the film a faithful adaptation of the original work.

It’s impossible to watch Gurthunda Seetakalam without thinking about past loves.

Plus Points:

Actors performances

Dialogues

Minus Points:

Few dragged scenes

Rating: 3/5
