Malayalam films to stream on Jio Cinema: Malayalam Mojo

Popular multi language OTT platform Jio Cinema is presenting a Mollywood movie festival “Malayalam Mojo” which will consist of six movies from various genres. Starting from June 18, Jio Cinema will present stories from Kerala across genres, content, narrative and characters. As we all know during the lockdown there was a big scarcity for movies and entertainment. So, many OTT platforms are coming up with dubbed movies from other languages while some OTT platforms adding English subtitles ti saturate its users. Similarly, An eclectic mix of six Malayalam titles will be available with English subtitles, including straight-to-digital release also previously-released films.

If we look at the star cast and technicians in these films, Actors such as Mohanlal, Siddharth, Dileep and Nivin Pauly, director Jeethu Joseph, Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty are been a part. The six movies will be released one after the other, starting from June 18.

#1 Kammara Sambhavam

The Rathish Ambat directorial Kammara Sambhavam features actors Dileep, Siddharth, Murali Gopy, Namitha Pramod in prominent roles. Directed by Rathish Ambat, The satirical-thriller will be released in Jio Cinemas on June 19. With Sound Design by Academy Award winning Resul Pookutty, Kammara Sambhavam was much feted with the film bagging the National Film Award for Best Production Design.

#2 Clint

Clint is based on the real-life story of Edmund Thomas Clint, the child prodigy. The film starring Unni Mukundan, Rima Kallingal, Vinay Forrt and Master Alok in the lead. Clint will be streaming on Jio Cinemas from June 25.

#3 Puzhayamma (Direct OTT)

Directed by Vijeesh Mani, Puzhayamma is based on the friendship between a 13-year-old girl and an American tourist played by Baby Meenakshi and Linda Arsenio. The movie will be directly released on OTT platform Jio Cinema on July 1.

#4 Mr and Ms Rowdy

“Mr. and Ms. Rowdy” will have a digital premiere on July 4. The comedy stars Kalidas Jayaram and Aparna Balamurali, and is directed by Jeethu Joseph.

#5 Kuttyamma

VM Vinu’s “Kuttyamma” premieres digitally on July 7. The family drama stars Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan.
