Kabir Khan Early Life

Kabir’s Muslim father, Rasheeduddin Khan, was a founding professor at Jawahar Lal Nehru University, and his Hindu mother, Leela, gave birth to him on September 14, 1968, in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Kabir is married to the well-known TV hostess Mini Mathur, and the two of them have a son, Vivaan, and a daughter, Siarah.

Kabir Khan Career

At the young age of 25, Kabir began his career in the film industry as a cinematographer, working on a handful of documentaries including Gautam Ghose’s Beyond the Himalayas, which broadcast on the Discovery Channel. The Forgotten Army, about Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Fauj, was his first film as a director. Some of Kabir’s other popular documentaries, such “The Titanic Sinks in Kabul” and “Taliban Years and Beyond,” were released that same year, 2001.

Kabir’s Bollywood debut, Kabul Express (2006), came after his success with documentaries; it won the “Indira Gandhi Award” for Best First Film of a Director. The Afghan Ministry of Culture filed a complaint over the film’s discriminatory depiction of the country’s ethnic minority, which caused the film to cause a sensation in Afghanistan.

After this, there was another blockbuster in 2009 called New York, starring John Abraham, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Katrina Kaif. Several critics gave the film positive reviews after it was shown as the “opening movie” at the 33rd International Cairo Film Festival.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starred in Kabir’s 2012 film Ek Tha Tiger, which he also directed. The film, which follows an Indian spy who falls for a Pakistani agent, was met with mixed reviews and disappointing box office results. In 2015, he made the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor as co-stars. When it was released, this film surpassed the earnings of the previous year’s blockbuster to become India’s second-highest-grossing film ever. The movie earned a slew of prizes, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Offering Wholesome Entertainment. Next, he directed the Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif action movie Phantom. The film follows a scenario that develops in the wake of the 26/11 attacks. Tubelight, an Indian period war drama co-produced by Salman Khan, is one of Kabir’s 2017 releases. Salman Khan stars as an Indian who falls in love with a Chinese girl during the 1962 Sino-Indian War in this film.

Many of Kabir’s films, such as Kabul Express, Ek Tha Tiger, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and Phantom, have been scripted by him as well.

Kabir, Salman Khan, and Parveez Shaikh all worked together in 2015 to produce the film Bajrangi Bhaaijaan.
