He attended Kaikavolu for his primary and secondary education before moving to Kakinada for his higher studies. He finished his tenth grade there before enrolling in Andalamma College for his intermediate studies. He moved to Hyderabad to pursue his college education and graduated from Ambedkar Degree College in Baglingampally, Hyderabad, with a degree in commerce (B.Com).

He made an effort to finish his master’s in business. But when he was denied admission to any college, he lost interest in carrying on with his studies and started to become more interested in movies.

He had a strong passion for acting since he was in school. During his school years, his brother Dr. Mangaraju encouraged him to participate in stage productions and small plays. He began working as a drama artist. He played the part of Parandhamayya in his first play, Pending File, which was a drama. But as he entered the stage, he lost track of the entirety of his part and became perplexed. Nevertheless, he pulled it off, and as a drama artist, it was a memorable experience for him.

He then traveled to Chennai to begin his film career. He went to the film’s screening there, which was for Kranti Kumar. He was one of the 300 individuals who took the test. He was given the chance to perform in that movie. But regrettably, because of the film producer’s passing, the filming was interrupted in the middle.
