Verdict

As informed earlier, this movie is an official adaptation of the classic ‘Forrest Gump’ that got released in the year 1994. Actor Atul Kulkarni made the changes for Indian adaptation and that change in the nativity and scenes look pretty good on screen barring few dialogues that look unnecessary. Makers have tried their best to stick to the original without disturbing the soul of the story and they succeeded  in engaging the audience with the emotions.

Aamir Khan is called the perfectionist in Indian film industry, due to his dedication towards the character he plays in the movies. He will surely surprise you with the makeover of his look and physic, but his performance might remind you of his character from PK. However, Aamir was exceptional in the emotional scenes. Kareena Kapoor is seen on screen in very few projects these days and she did a good job alongside Aamir in few emotional scenes. Telugu actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya shines in the role of Balaraju Bodiga, who looks simple yet lovable. Mona Singh as mother will grab our attention with her performance. All other actors did their part well.

Technically movie looks good in all aspects. Music composed by Pritam is one of the major highlights in the movie. Songs are soulful and background score adds the needed emotion to the scenes. Cinematography by Setu should be appreciated, especially for the war episodes and few beautiful landscape shots. Director Advait Chandan did a good job in recreating the magic spread by Forrest Gump.

Lastly, Laal Singh Chaddha is a truthful remake of the original that will surely win the hearts of audience, despite the negativity surrounded to ban the movie.
