Malavika Mohanan Early Life
Malavika Mohanan was born on August 4, 1992 (now 27 years old) in Payyanur, Kannur District, Kerala. The Leo star sign describes her perfectly. She had a formative upbringing in Mumbai.
Mohanan went along with her dad to a commercial shoot for a skin lightener one day. When Malavika told the Malayalam actor Mammootty that she wanted to be an actress, he offered her the lead role in his son Dulquer Salmaan’s film “Pattam Pole.” Malavika allegedly took a while to accept the proposal.
Her filmmaker dad, K. U. Mohanan, is famous in his own right. Mother’s name is Beena Mohanan. Specifically, she has a sibling named Aditya Mohanan.
Malavika Mohanan Career
Malavika Mohanan debuted in the role of ‘Riya’ in the 2013 Malayalam film “Pattam Pole.” Both critics and audiences were divided on this one. This was followed by her role as a ballerina in the film “Nirnayakam.” In 2016, she debuted in the Kannada film Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi.
Later, she made an appearance in the Hindi movie “Beyond the Clouds.” She first appeared on screen in the 2019 Tamil film “Petta,” in which she played the part of “Poongodi Malik.” She has not only been in films, but also in commercials for well-known companies like “Hero Honda” and “Mathrubhumi Yathra.”
A member of the ensemble cast that also includes Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, she signed on to perform in Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta (2019) about the middle of the previous year. Since this was Malavika’s debut film in Tamil, she had a native speaker coach her on her lines. She then co-starred with Vijay as college professor Charulatha in the Tamil action thriller film Master (2021). The picture broke all kinds of box office records, becoming her highest-grossing effort to date.
Her debut film, Maaran, starring opposite Dhanush, was released the same year. The movie was distributed directly on Disney+Hotstar instead of in theatres, where it was met with widespread disapproval from both critics and audiences. She is currently filming her scenes with Siddhant Chaturvedi for the upcoming Hindi film Yudhra. The second is expected to hit shelves in the summer of 2022.
