Mammootty attended the Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam after being born on September 7th, 1953, in Chempu, Kerala, India. At a later time, he attended and graduated from Ernakulam Government Law College with a law degree. When Mammootty was still a student at Maharaja’s College in 1971, he landed a role in his first film, the comedy Anubhavangal Paalichakal. K. G. George and M. T. Vasudevan Nair, both renowned writers, were instrumental in advancing Mammootty’s career in the cinema industry. I.V.Sasi directed his debut film as a hero, titled “Thrishna.”
The films Vilkanundu Swapnangal, Mela, and Yavanika were a turning point in Mammootty’s life as they brought widespread acclaim to his acting abilities.
