Mammootty Upcoming Movies: This year, Mammootty’s movies “Bheeshma Parvam,” “CBI 5: The Brain,” and “Puzhu” have already come out. He is a big star in the Malayalam film industry. Bheeshma Parvam has already been called one of the most popular Malayalam movies for the year 2022. His movie “Puzhu” went straight to Sony Liv instead of being shown in theatres.
Mammootty made his acting debut in the 1971 movie Anubhavangal Paalichakal, but he didn’t get any credit for it. Kaalachakram, which came out in 1973, was his first movie role. But the actor didn’t find success until 1980, when movies like Mela and Vilkkanundu Swapnangal came out (1980). Mammootty won his first Kerala State Film Award in 1981 for the movie Ahimsa by I. V. Sasi. He won the award for Best Supporting Actor.
During the 1980s, the actor was in more than 200 movies and worked closely with top directors and screenwriters like I. V. Sasi, K. G. George, Padmarajan, M. T. Vasudevan Nair, Bharathan, P. G. Viswambharan, K. Madhu, and Joshi. Athirathram (1984), Adiyozhukkukal (1984), Thinkalaazhcha Nalla Divasam (1985), Avidaathepole Ivideyum (1985), Yathra (1985), Nirakkoottu (1985), Kariyila Kattu Pole (1986), Aavanazhi (1986), New Delhi (1987), Thaniyavarthanam (1987), Anantaram (1987), Or (1989). The actor won his first National Award for his role as the folk hero Chandu Chekavar in the epic film Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha. Before that, he had won consecutive Kerala State Film Awards for his roles in Adiyozhukkukal and Yathra. The movie also won a National Award for Best Screenplay and a Golden Globe for Best Picture.
