Meera Jasmine Career

In 2001, Meera Jasmine made her acting debut in the film Soothradharan. While still a student, the actress landed the part after director A.K. Meera was discovered by Lohitdas, and though she was hesitant at first, she agreed to star in a film. The box office bombed for the film that Dileep was in. After a disastrous first film, the actress broke into Tamil cinema the following year, appearing in the films Run and Bala. Nevertheless, N. While Run, directed by N. Co-starring R. The former, Madhavan, was a huge financial success, while the latter, which earned mixed reviews, only ended up making a modest profit.

The year 2003 was one of the busiest and most successful in the actress’s career. This year saw a total of eight film releases for the actress; five in Malayalam and three in Tamil. The actress had a breakout year in 2003, and 2004 was only the beginning of her career. She made her Telugu film debut in the film Ammayi Bagundi, starring alongside Sivaji, Ali, and Bramhanandam, and directed by Balasekaran.

While 2004 was fruitful for Meera, 2005 brought even more recognition and accolades. The actress’s lone film this year was the Malayalam comedy-drama Achuvinte Amma, directed by Sathyan Anthikkad. The film, which also starred Narain and Urvashi, was well-received by reviewers and went on to win other prizes, including the Filmfare Award for Best Film in Malayalam and the Asianet Award for Best Actress, both won by Meera.

The actress’s career flourished even more in 2007 when she made her debut in the Kannada cinema business with Mahesh Babu’s Arasu. Success came easily for the movie starring Puneeth Rajkumar, Ramya, and Shriya Saran. She starred in the Malayalam film Ore Kadal later that year, for which she received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress, the Filmfare Award for Best Malayalam Actress, and the Asianet Award for Best Actress.

The actress released 15 films between 2009 and 2012 in the languages Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, with the exception of the Tamil film Mambattiyan, which bombed at the box office. Post-2012, Meera committed more time to performing in Malayalam films, and 2013 saw three of her films released in that language. Lisammayude Veedu, written and directed by Babu Janardhanan, was the first film she was a part of this year. The film did reasonably well at the box office, and Meera received high praise for her portrayal of the film’s protagonist, Lisamma. In Inga Enna Solluthu, a 2014 Tamil film directed by Vincent Selva and Ithinumappuram, the actress delivered another strong performance. Pathu Kalpanakal, starring Anoop Menon, Prashant Narayanan, Thampi Antony, Joju George, and Kaniha, was one of her 2016 releases and was directed by Don Max.
