In 2005, he shot to fame thanks to the success of his singles “Woh Lamhe” (from the film Zeher) and “Aadat” (from the film Kalyug). His next film score was for the movie Bas Ek Pal, which featured performances by renowned Indian vocalist KK on the title track and Atif Aslam on the track Tere Bin. His songs “Tose Naina Lage” (2007) and “Maula Mere” (2007) from the film Anwar were huge hits. Jism 2, Yaariyan, Ek Villain, Hate Story 2, Creature 3D, Samrat & Co, Alone, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Bhaag Johnny, All Is Well, Loveshhuda, Sanam Re, Ki & Ka, Shivaay, Wajah Tum Ho, Half Girlfriend, Shab, Aksar 2, Hate Story 4, Baaghi 2, and Mercury all feature songs he composed.

Working with Indian artist Abhijeet Sawant, he wrote and produced the track “Ek Shaqs” for the 2007 album Junoon. He collaborated with T-Series in 2009 to release his debut studio album, Tu Hi Mere Rab Ki Tarah Hai, which featured a number of songs he had written that became instant hits. This album has contributions from many well-known British musicians. He collaborated with singer Atif Aslam in 2010 to write “Kuch Is Tarah,” which appeared on the album Doorie.
