He began his career as a director’s assistant on the film Hyderabad Nawaabs. The film is directed by Sekhar Kammula, winner of an Indian national award, and Nikhil plays one of the four principal parts. Happy Days is one of the few low-budget films to achieve commercial success in 2007. Ankit, Pallavi & Friends is his debut film as a director. He has acted in hit films such as Yuvatha and Veedu Theda, which ran in Andhra Pradesh for 50 days, and he made his debut in 2013 with Swamy Ra Ra.
