Gopala Krishna holds an M.A. Telugu Master’s degree from Arts College and a B. SC Bachelor’s degree from Government City Science College. Later, in 2003, he received his Ph.D. from Osmania University on the subject of “Telugu Cinema Sahityam – Katha-Kathanam – Siplam.” Gopala Krishna delivered his dissertation in order to receive a D.Litt. in literature from Berhampur University in Orissa. His 2015 exam topic was “Telugu Cinema Story – Social Outlook,” and he participated in the viva. He also finished Hindi’s “Rashtra Bhasha.” Gopala Krishna is proficient in Tamil, English, and Hindi. His wife Vijaya Lakshmi is his spouse. At the Lal Bahdoor Shastri Oriental College in Chinanindra Kolanu, West Godavari, Gopala Krishna taught Telugu. Gopala Krishna was persuaded to join him in the 1978 film by his brother Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, who at the time worked in the film industry. As a result, they both started writing the screenplays for the movies under the pen names Paruchuri Gopala Krishna and Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao.

The composition team was established as well-known writers after Sri. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao gave them the pen name Paruchuri Brothers in 1982.
