In Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, on May 25, 1968, Rao Ramesh was born to actor parents. His father was also an actor, named Rao Gopal Rao. He grew up there. He attended Sri Ramakrishna Mission School, located in T. Nagar, for his elementary and secondary education. He then went on to earn a degree in Communications before pursuing a career in still photography. Afterward, he went to Bangalore to study industrial photography with K. S. Prakasa Rao, a cinematographer and the brother of K. Raghavendra Rao.
Rao Ramesh Career
The South Indian director Ghantasala Ratna Kumar had planned for him to make his debut in a television series back in 2001 or 2002, but the show was ultimately scrapped. After that, he made a few guest appearances on popular Telugu TV shows like “Pavithra Bandham” and “Kalavari Kodalu.” When he first entered the spotlight, it was as Hema’s brother in the 2002 Telugu film Seema Simham.
Prior to entering the industry, he worked as an assistant for cinematographer K. S. Prakasa Rao, the brother of K. Raghavendra Rao. Over the course of the next seven years following his father’s passing, he was preoccupied with family responsibilities. His mother had encouraged him to pursue acting, and he made his debut in a Telugu TV serial directed by Ghantasala Ratna Kumar; however, production on the show was delayed due to scheduling conflicts. Meanwhile, he had a chance to appear in a Balakrishna film as Simran’s sibling, but the film ultimately flopped.
After that, he relocated to Chennai, where he appeared in nearly a thousand episodes of television shows over the course of four and a half years, including hits like Pavitra Bandham and Kalavari Kodalu. Okkadunnadu, a film in which he made a cameo appearance in 2007, was released that year. His breakthrough performance came in Krish’s 2008 film Gamyam, in which he played a reformed Naxalite and was widely praised for his work. He then went on to star in films like S. S. Rajamoul’s Magadheera and others like Kotha Bangaru Lokam (2008) and Avakai Biryani (2008). There was a time in the early 2010s when he was in high demand as a supporting actor.
