With Rosshan’s Notebook, Mieo Joseph made his feature picture debut. Rosshan served as an assistant director on several movies before he made his directorial debut, including Hitler Brother (1997), Ayal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu (1998), and Narasimham. He finally made his directorial debut with Udayananu Tharam in 2005. This film was a success at the box office and went on to win the Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director.
