She has appeared in various movies as a leading lady, including Peranmai (2009), Maanja Velu (2010), and Nil Gavani Sellathey (2010). A critic wrote, “Among the relatively new cast, only Dhansika (Maanja Velu, Peraanmai) leaves an impression” in reference to her performance in Nil Gavani Sellathey.

In the films Aravaan (2012) and Paradesi (both of which she starred in), she played the lead female role. Yogi (Dhansikaa) is a treat to see, considering her trendy makeover and ease in battle scene, and she earned praise for her performance as Rajinikanth’s daughter in Kabali (2016).

She shaved her head for the film. To quote one reviewer: “Sai Dhanshika is pretty much the highlight here: tough, determined, and equally vulnerable to sadness when the circumstances requires” (Enga Amma Rani, 2017), her next film, which was set in Malaysia and received great reviews. Her later flicks Uru and Solo garnered critical acclaim for her acting. The films Vizhithiru, Kaathadi, and Kaalakkoothu were met with widespread criticism upon their premiere. Her first film in Kannada, Udgharsha (2019), was well received. The reviews on her next picture, Iruttu, were positive and negative. She plays an antagonist in the film Laabam. In addition, she will be appearing in Yogi Da. Kitna and Vaalujada, two bilingual features, ran into production delays.
