He did his schooling at Don Bosco High School, Mumbai, then he went to H. R. College, Mumbai, and Sajid graduated with degrees in CA and law and, at age 21, began working as an assistant director on J.P. Dutta’s Ghulami.

Sajid’s grandparents Abdul Karim Nadiadwala and their father Sulieman Nadiadwala produced several Bollywood films, hence he comes from a family of filmmakers. His grandpa moved his family from Nadiad, Gujarat to Malad, Mumbai in 1955. There, he opened a chain of theatres. He grew up in the kind of filmy environment where watching movies was the norm.

Sajid got his start in the industry at an early age, working as a production assistant at his uncle’s studio. By the time he turned 25, he had launched his own production business, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd. His debut feature, Zulm Ki Hukumat, starring Dharmendra and Govinda, was released in 1992. On the big screen for the first time, he cast Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty in his next film, Waqt Hamara Hai.
In 1996, he produced Jeet, starring Salman Khan and Sunny Deol, which became a smash hit and made Sunny’s hook step in the song “Yaara O Yaara” famous. His following, Judwaa, had Salman Khan in a dual role and became a career high point for the actor as well as a cult classic.
