Movie Verdict

We have seen many historical films over the years, and what is good about historical films is that people learn about unsung heroes. As Prithviraj Chauhan was the greatest king of the Chauhan dynasty, the movie is about his virtue and valour in the war field, and the makers have succeeded to some extent in showing his bravery, but if we talk about the story as a cinematic experience, the film starts off well but the graph falls flat.

Prithviraj Chauhan, played by Akshay Kumar, is fantastic. We can’t think of anything terrible to say about his performance, however his makeup could have been better in most of the moments. Sonu Sood’s performance as Chand is adequate, and Manushi Chillar made her acting debut with this picture, and while she looks lovely as a princess, there is no room for her to shine, and the rest of the actors did their jobs admirably.

Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the captain of the ship, partially succeeded in making the film because he could have written a tighter screenplay so that the audience would be more engaged with the film. He mostly focused on his bravery, which worked out well, but he failed to impress the audience as a director.

The production values of Samrat Prithviraj are excellent, and Manushnandan’s visuals are good but could have been better. Shankar-Ehsaan-music Loy’s is one of the film’s biggest backbones; they never disappoint with their background score, and in Prithviraj, they saved a lot of scenes with their background music, and the rest of the cast performed admirably.

Finally, Samrat Prithviraj is a one-time movie that you should watch if you are a fan of Akshay Kumar.
